Two sets of proofs and one revise (all marked) of the work published by Reeves and Turner in 1890. T.a.42: Author's final corrected proof sheets. Dated "19/12/89"-"7/4/90". Title-page in black. Only a few gatherings show signs of having been returned to the shop. T.a.43: "Author's third corrected proof sheets". Same proof, corrections and dates as in T.a.42, except that the title-page is in red and black. The sheets show signed of being used by printers in correcting. T.a.44: "Author's working copy". A revise of the proof. The title page, however, is in black only without the change indicated in T.a.43. Dated "27/12/89" - "22/4/90". Many additional corrections and changes marked in.
